Farai Dondofema was born in Zimbabwe. He studied at the Universities of Zimbabwe (BSc (Hons) Agriculture [Animal Science] and MSc. Integrated Water Resources Management) and Fort Hare (MSc. Pasture Ecology and BSc (Hons) Applied Remote sensing and GIS). Since 2014 he has been undertaking PhD research at the University of Venda on the use of remote sensing and GIS in assessing the spatio-temporal distribution and productivity of alien invasive plants in the Vhembe Biosphere Reserve. He is a Chief GIS and Remote Sensing Technician lecturer in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Venda and is a member of the Vhembe Biosphere Reserve Conservation Committee.
